Family: like branches on a tree, like sanitary sewers

Three other phenomenons that can be compared to family" - like sanitary sewers: separate underground carriage systems that all grow in different directions yet the root remains as one. Like cancer: it all starts from one mutated cell and spreads out in different directions, slowly infecting one or several entire organs. Or bacteria: one tiny bacterium can be the mother of millions of tiny thingies infecting all of what ever you want them to infect. Stop making so much sense!
